Are you a charity or legal or funding expert with a passion for health and social care?
We are looking to recruit volunteer (unpaid) members of our Audit Committee to advise us on legal issues and fundraising.
Successful applicants will join the Audit Committee - our body responsible for overseeing all systems, controls and processes that may have an impact on the charity’s ability to meet its objectives. The charity is funded by public money, and the audit committee ensures that resources and assets are being used efficiently and effectively.
Read the Healthwatch Annual Report for 2015-2016. The report gives an overview of our work over the year, describes our key achievements and how we have made a difference to local health and social care services.
Key achievements from the year included:
Having a significant influence on the development of a strategy to improve mental health care for young people through increased staffing levels and a greater role for the voluntary sector
Improvements to care homes and recognising good practice where we found it
Improvements to GP Pracrices including helping one local practice to identify and put a stop to the activities of a counsellor operating fraudulently from their practice
Improvements in Discharge from Hospital and recognition of our work in this area nationally
You can also talk to us if you need information. Additionally, if you need someone to help you through the complaints process, or make a complaint on your behalf, we can put you in touch with advocacy services.
