Enter & View Report: Dalemead Care Home

As part of a series of Enter & View visits to assess local care, we have published our report on Dalemead Care Home.

A private residential care home located in a quiet residential area close to Richmond Bridge and the River Thames. It comprises 2 large adjoining Victorian houses, modernised and extended, with a large garden and accommodates up to 49 residents. The accommodation is arranged in four separate groups and each group has its own lounge, dining room and kitchen.

What we did

The report is based on a December 2016 visit by two volunteers and one staff members from Healthwatch Richmond. For each Enter & View visit, Healthwatch Richmond uses its statutory powers to visit wards, talk to patients, relatives and staff, and request information, so it can make recommendations for improvement.

Summary

The report highlights that good practice was observed throughout the visit at Dalemead Care Home. The atmosphere was warm, caring and communication between residents, their families, staff and management was excellent. The home had very high standard systems in place to care for its residents, meaning that no recommendations needed to be done.
