Healthwatch Richmond's Response to the Updated Richmond SEND Futures Plan

The revised SEND Futures Plan aims to improve the quality of services for children & young people and reduce the financial deficit in Richmond. We responded to the plan to ensure peoples' voices were included. Read the plan and our response here.

Healthwatch Richmond engaged with families and young people with Special Educational needs and Disabilities (SEND) prior to and during the coronavirus pandemic. The SEND Futures Plan identifies many long-standing difficulties faced by families as they undertake the journey from assessment through transitions and to adulthood.

Healthwatch Richmond has provided a response and commentary to the following sections of the plan:

  • emotional wellbeing and mental health activities
  • communication with parents
  • budget, dependencies and KPIs
