Enter & View Report: Alexander House

As part of a series of Enter & View visits to assess local care, we have published our report on Alexander House care home.

A private residential care home located in a quiet residential area of East Sheen near Richmond Park. It comprises 2 adjoining Victorian houses, with a garden and accommodates up to 16 residents. The accommodation is arranged over 2 floors.

What we did

On the 8th May 2017, our team of Enter & View Representatives visited Deer Lodge, as part of our programme for visiting residential care homes in the borough. We spoke to residents, their families and staff about their experiences of care at the home. The report is based on these views. For each Enter & View visit, Healthwatch Richmond uses its statutory powers to visit wards, talk to patients, relatives and staff and request information, so it can make recommendations for improvement.

Summary

It was observed that Alexander House is a well run home with a caring manager and staff. Good practice was witnessed throughout the whole visit, as it created a warm, caring atmosphere between residents, their families and staff. Moreover, the house offers a wide range of activities to its residents.
