Enter & View Report: Brinsworth House

As part of a series of Enter & View visits to assess local care, we have published our report on Brinsworth House.

What we did

Brinsworth House is a fully-equipped nursing and residential care home in a large converted mansion house, with extensive grounds, near Twickenham Green. It has accommodation for 36 residents.

Three of our volunteers and one member of staff visited the site on Monday the 27th of June 2016. As for each Enter & View visit, Healthwatch Richmond used its statutory powers to visit wards, talk to patients, relatives and staff, and request information, so it can make recommendations for improvement.

Summary

The report highlights that Brinsworth House is a well run home with good systems in place to look after its residents. There was a pleasant and warm atmosphere in the home and good interaction was seen between staff and residents, who overall seemed very content. 

In addition to reaching positive conclusions, the report asks the Brinsworth Home managers to achieve some improvements such as making adaptations to seats and toilet heights and a kitchen upgrade.
