Hampton Medical Centre: Enter and View Report

Read our report about our recent Enter and View visits to Hampton Medical Centre as part of our wider work looking a patient experiences of general practices in Richmond upon Thames.

Healthwatch Richmond looked at patients' experiences of general practice in the borough. This follows on from our previous report on Patient Experiences of General Practice in Richmond

We visited Hampton Medical Centre on 14th and 15th July 2025. We spoke to 45 patietns and 3 members of staff. 

Overall, we feel that this is a positive report. We hope that this report provides assurance, especially in relation to patient satisfaction with the practice. 
 

Recommendations 

  1. Share positive findings with all staff and patient participation group.
  2. Remove posters on the plastic screen at reception which block patient view of admin staff.
  3. Enable non-English language options on the self-check-in screen.
  4. Ensure that the wall-mounted hand sanitisers are checked and refilled as needed.
  5. Review phone wait times.
  6. Advertise a way for patients to speak to reception privately.
  7. Review the total triage system.
  8. Review processes to prevent and manage long queues at reception.
