Healthwatch Richmond is looking at patients' experiences of General Practice within Richmond upon Thames. This is following on from our October 2024 report 'Patient Experience of General Practice in Richmond'. 

We visited Hampton Hill Medical Centre on the 21st and 22nd of July 2025 and spoke to 30 patients and 5 members of staff.

Overall, we feel that this is a positive report. We hope that this report provides assurance, especially in relation to patient satisfaction with the practice. 

Recommendations 

  1. Share positive feedback and findings from this report with all staff and the patient participation group.
  2. Review patient feedback of the appointment booking process, including total triage.
  3. Review phone wait times and create a plan to increase patient satisfaction with phone access.
  4. Display more information for patients in the waiting room.
  5. Review the fire door between the reception area and waiting room to ensure that patients can easily access both spaces.
  6. Clean the dado rails and window ledges in the reception and conduct regular checks.
  7. Fix the toilet flush in the one patient bathroom.
  8. Improve audibility of reception staff for patients.
