    The Care Act was the largest piece of social care legislation in 60 years. It reformed the law relating to care and support for adults and carers, bringing in a new legal framework that encompassed the whole population.

    The NHS, Richmond Council, voluntary sector and Healthwatch have launched a two-year plan to meet the health and care needs of people living in Richmond.

    In February 2019, Youth Out Loud! completed their first 15 steps challenge at Kingston Hospital. They gave invaluable advice to improve the paediatric day unit and the paediatric emergency unit.

    South West London and St George’s Mental Health Trust are using the proceeds of recent sales of parts of their Barnes Hospital and Richmond Royal Hospital sites to fund new purpose built facilities on those sites.

    In 2017 we set out to review mental health care for local people. During the summer we published our report on the Recovery & Support Team review we conducted and we continued to seek updates on changes and improvements.

    As part of our ongoing work on Urgent and Emergency Care, we reviewed the Urgent Care Centre and Emergency Department at West Middlesex Hospital in August.

    As your watchdog we want to represent your voice. We speak to thousands of people and we want to ensure that the views and experiences in our database represent our Borough. We have looked at the demographics of people who have spoken to us.

    At the time of our Crisis Care report publication we were working with partners from across the system to finalise a map of the Crisis Care services in Richmond, as part of the wider Mental Health Transformation work.

    NHS England are reviewing non-emergency patient transport. We have used your experiences from the past 4 years to provide evidence to this consultation that could help to improve the service.
